The Woods Hole Film Festival is an annual event designed to help promote independent films. It has been in existence for twenty years and has developed an extensive and interesting lineup of programs and events on Cape Cod.

It also emphasizes the work of first time and New England based filmmakers while showcasing the work of independent filmmakers who have developed a relationship with Cape Cod or whose films work to enhance the quality of life on Cape Cod. The Festival also works with individuals, businesses and institutions to develop and present programs which helps to further its goals.
The organization is not for profit and depends heavily on donations, sponsorships, grants and event admissions.
The organization depends on volunteer support at the annual Film Festival in order to manage the numerous events efficiently. Without this extensive support, the Festival simply could not exist in the same quality and impact which it provides today. The organization does a wonderful job promoting its programs but support from volunteers and other interested supporters is vital to its continued existence.
